Over 25 years ago John Payne who at the time was working for the Holmen Chemical Company became aware that there was a need to measure pellet physical quality and developed the ‘Holmen Pellet Tester’.
The Holmen Pellet Tester in many countries has now become the industry standard for the measurement of pellet durability.
The introduction of a means to rapidly measure pellet durability resulted in general awareness of pellet physical quality and the need to improve.
In 1989 Borregaard acquired the Holmen Chemical Company and with it took on the responsibility of developing pellet testers for the industry.
Borregaard then approached TekPro Limited to manufacture the existing product but very soon TekPro Limited was working with their front line team to design a new methodology. This new system was all about a stable and repeatable test environment to achieve consistent results. This involved much investigation and evaluation of every component part to eliminate any variables that could possibly produce an error. The latest models are the Benchmark for the Industry.
After 8 years of involvement Borregaard invited TekPro Limited to market their products under licence, on a worldwide basis. This has led to even more product development with increased demand and market share.
